Community Impact

RCIF is a relatively new organization but is already making a difference in the amount of decent, safe and sanitary housing in the City of Rockford and especially the low- and moderate-income communities which make up its Target Market. As of September 2022, in only a few short months from its incorporation, it has made loans to enable its borrowers to acquire and make improvements to nine homes in the City of Rockford. It has provided access to capital on terms which are unavailable through conventional means. Without financing by RCIF, these homes would continue to deteriorate, exacerbating the decline in quality housing stock in Rockford.

RCIF’s collaboration with Rockford Corridor Improvements, Inc. provides grants for work done in Rockford’s Ellis Heights neighborhood. This incentivizes borrowers to improve housing in a centrally located, often overlooked neighborhood. Collaborations such as these will impact Ellis Heights and the City as a whole.

RCIF is continuing to expand its capacity and collaborate with additional community partners in order to increase the financing and other services it provides and foster the economic development of the City of Rockford and especially its low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.
